Enshrouded

Enshrouded co-op for your group — set up in minutes, asleep when you're not playing.

Get a dedicated Enshrouded world running for your group without port forwarding, a router login, or anyone leaving their PC on. Everyone connects by pasting one address into Co-op → Search by IP. The world persists whether you play tonight or in three months — and while it's asleep, it costs nothing. Bringing a save from a solo or co-op game? Upload it and the server picks it up on the next start.

Enshrouded hosting — questions

How do my friends connect?

From Enshrouded's Co-op menu, choose Search by IP and paste in the address from Discord or the dashboard. Nobody needs to port forward, change router settings, or keep a PC running — the server is ours, not somebody's desktop.

How many people can play?

Up to 16 players — Enshrouded's maximum, and the default. You can set a lower limit from the server's Settings tab. If you're planning a larger session, tell us how it goes — we're actively measuring capacity on bigger groups.

Can I bring a world I've already started?

Yes. Upload your savegame folder from the server's Files card while it's stopped (or when you create the server) and it's applied on the next start. A co-op save exported from any world slot is moved onto the dedicated server's slot automatically, so there's no renaming to do. You can pull a ZIP of the world back out the same way.

What if we stop playing for a couple of months?

The world is still there, and you weren't charged for any of it. There's no monthly plan to keep paying and nothing to cancel — a dormant world costs nothing. Come back after a patch, start the server, and pick up where you left off.

Do I have to pay when nobody's playing?

Not while it's asleep — it shuts itself off about five minutes after the last player leaves, and if you start it and nobody joins it stops on its own after 30 minutes. You're billed by the minute only while it's running.

How long does it take to start?

Usually two to three minutes, and occasionally up to five. Enshrouded gives the client very little feedback while a server boots: a sleeping server shows up in Search by IP as "<your server> (waking up...)" (then "(starting...)" once it's booting), and trying to join it asks for the password and then returns a "server is full or unavailable" error until it's ready. That search is also what wakes it — so search once, wait, and search again, or let Discord tell you when it's up.

Is it a private server?

Yes. Enshrouded has no open-server mode, so every server gets a password — we generate one at creation and you can change it; read it back from Discord or the dashboard and hand it to your group. Your world runs on its own server instance; nobody else's world or players share it.

Can I get a bigger server for a larger group?

Yes. There are two sizes, and you can pick the larger one when you create the server, or change it while it's stopped, for a bigger world or a bigger group. Both are priced above — you only pay for the size while it's running.

How much does it cost?

You pay by the minute, only while your server is running — it sleeps a few minutes after the last player leaves. Most new accounts start with $3 free credit, no card required.
